Tinychip Micro officially launches TSP007, an automotive-grade capacitive anti-pinch dedicated chip. Designed for intelligent automotive opening and closing systems, the chip provides a single-chip capacitive active anti-pinch solution for electric doors, front trunks, power liftgates, windows, and other actuated closure mechanisms. Developed on Tinychip Micro’s mixed-signal chip platform, the TSP007 interfaces directly with anti-pinch sensing strips and works in conjunction with controllers to execute stop-and-reverse actions. In terms of specifications, the TSP007 features an ARM Cortex-M0 core running at 48 MHz, equipped with 64 KB ECC-protected Flash and 4 KB SRAM. It operates within a voltage range of 5.5 V to 18 V and supports 40 V load-dump conditions. The VS supply pin complies with ISO7637 and ISO16750 automotive surge transient standards. Integrated features include a high-voltage LDO, five-channel capacitive anti-pinch detection with a hardware-based shield electrode module supporting frequency-hopping interference resistance, and nine GPIOs. The device also includes a 14-bit SAR ADC with a capacitive sampling rate of 500 KSPS, a single-stage PGA with offset voltage compensation and adjustable gain from 1x to 16x, and four 16-bit PWM channels. Communication interfaces include UART and an on-chip LIN transceiver PHY compliant with LIN 2.x and SAE J2602 data link layer standards, supporting both 115 kbps high-speed mode and 20 kbps standard mode, as well as LIN Bootloader over-the-air updates. An integrated temperature sensor offers ±3°C accuracy at room temperature, and the chip provides a dedicated SWD high-speed programming interface. The TSP007 comes in a DFN16 3 mm × 4 mm package, is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified, and supports an operating junction temperature range from -40°C to 150°C. Target applications include capacitive anti-pinch functionality for powered soft-close doors, sliding doors, electric front trunk lids, power liftgates, hatchbacks, and electric window regulators—covering various body-mounted electro-mechanical closure systems. Tinychip Micro has made available comprehensive software and hardware platforms and tools for evaluation, testing, and production of the TSP007.
