Geely Remote Delivers First Batch of Methanol-Electric Intercity Buses in Jiading, Shanghai

Recently, Geely’s Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group delivered Shanghai’s first batch of methanol-electric intercity buses under its Starbus brand in Jiading. The delivery was jointly completed by Shanghai Farizon Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Youwang Chenyou Passenger Transport Co., Ltd. Previously, the two parties completed the delivery of 52 units of the all-electric U11E bus model in 2025. The model delivered this time is the U11M, equipped with Farizon’s self-developed methanol range extender, offering a combined driving range exceeding 700 kilometers. Refueling takes only 10 minutes per session. Jiading has now established an operational ecosystem covering “methanol station support policies – vehicle application – refueling infrastructure,” including the launch of a project base, initial deployment of methanol-powered dump trucks, commissioning of the area’s first integrated methanol refueling station, and introduction of supporting regulatory policies. Cumulative sales of methanol-powered models under the Farizon Starbus brand have surpassed 2,000 units.
