SAMR (SAC) Approves National Standard for Automotive Software Quality and Defect Management

Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) approved and released the national standard "Specifications for Automotive Software Quality and Defect Management" (GB/T 48140–2026). This standard applies the PDCA cycle (Plan–Do–Check–Act) and risk-based thinking to establish a vehicle-grade software quality and defect management framework covering the entire lifecycle—from requirements analysis, design and implementation, integration, verification and validation, release management, to updates and maintenance.
