FAW Hongqi's first rugged off-road model, the G919, will open for pre-orders on September 22. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the vehicle features a body-on-frame construction and is powered by a range-extended electric powertrain. In June 2026, the Hongqi G919 appeared on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) new vehicle declaration list. According to the filing data, the vehicle measures 5,135 mm in length, 2,050 mm in width, 1,950 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. Powering the G919 is a 2.0T range-extender system paired with a quad-motor setup, delivering a combined output of 620 kW and 1,320 N·m of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, offers a maximum CLTC all-electric range of 280 km, and achieves a total combined range of 1,350 km. In terms of equipment, the G919 comes standard with a bull bar, recovery points, tow hooks, a roof platform, spotlights, a spare tire carrier ("small backpack"), and all-terrain (AT) off-road tires. Mounted atop the front fascia is a Zhuoyu 384-line LiDAR sensor, complemented by Hongqi’s SinoPilot 5.0 intelligent driving system.
