According to Yu Dongming, General Manager of NIO Anhui, the Firefly battery swap service has expanded to 33 cities nationwide with 42 battery swap stations, surpassing 10,000 cumulative battery swaps within 39 days of launch. On August 7, NIO launched its first batch of fifth-generation battery swap stations in seven cities—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hefei, Chengdu, and Quanzhou. NIO’s 4,000th battery swap station, which is also its first fifth-generation station, was inaugurated at Qiaoxiang Stadium in Quanzhou, Fujian, officially integrating Firefly into NIO’s battery swap network. Firefly began initial deliveries on April 29, 2025, and introduced an upgraded model in April 2026. The vehicle is priced between RMB 119,800 and RMB 125,800 for full purchase, or between RMB 79,800 and RMB 85,800 under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) rental plan. It retains the signature “Trio” headlight design and offers Star Orbit dual-tone alloy wheels. In September 2026, Firefly announced that cumulative deliveries had exceeded 80,000 units.
