On September 15, at the Seminar on Embodied Perception Fusion and Multimodal Large Model Innovation, Wang Xianbin, Partner at Gasgoo and Vice President of its Research Institute, stated that the supply chain overlap between automobiles and robots reaches 60% to 70%. Wang noted that commercialization of embodied intelligence and humanoid robots remains in its early stages and will only enter limited pilot trials in 2027. In 2026, the World Intelligent Convention (WIC) will cover approximately 100,000 square meters, while the World Robot Conference (WRC) will span about 60,000 square meters, featuring over 3,000 products and participation from hundreds of companies. Global robot shipments in 2026 are expected to reach around 60,000 units, with China accounting for roughly 50,000 units. In terms of application scenarios, entertainment/performance and research still dominate, while progress in sectors such as consumer electronics (3C), automotive, and logistics accounts for approximately 15% to 20%. Regarding cost reduction and the supply chain, the actuation system constitutes nearly half of the bill-of-materials (BOM) cost. Perception components—including six-axis force sensors, IMUs, and 3D vision—are mostly based on mainstream solutions that reuse NVIDIA Orin chips. As production scales up, both low-end and high-end products are expected to see cost-reduction potential of 40% to 70%.
