On September 18, multiple netizens posted online that they saw Yu Chengdong, Huawei's Executive Director, Chairman of the Product Investment Review Committee, and Chairman of Terminal BG, together with Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery, inspecting the updated Aito R7 at Huawei’s Bantian campus. According to online reports, Yin Tongyue recently arrived in Shenzhen and visited Huawei’s Bantian campus to meet Yu Chengdong; the two were seen walking side by side, chatting as they entered the gate together. The refreshed Aito R7 opened for reservations this month. After the upgrade, its CLTC-rated all-electric range reaches up to 855 km, and its handling has received bespoke tuning. The cabin features a flowing ambient lighting wrap-around design, equipped with a D-shaped sport steering wheel and a dual-screen setup. The infotainment system has been upgraded to HarmonyOS, the same exclusive version used in the new-generation Aito M9. The vehicle’s tailgate design has been revised, a high-mounted side-facing camera has been added near the B-pillar, semi-recessed door handles have replaced the previous ones, and the emblem now features an openwork design.
