On September 18, at the 4th AI-Defined Automotive Forum, Liu Xinlong, Head of AI Application Solutions for Automotive at Volcano Engine, delivered a speech titled "Practical Insights into AI Transformation for Automakers," sharing real-world applications of large model technologies in the automotive industry. Liu proposed that enterprises can advance three "compounding initiatives," including business structuring and the codification of operational playbooks. On the enterprise productivity front, he stated that successful deployment of digital employees requires four key enablers: model capabilities, secure agent architecture, IM platform context integration, and accumulated AI competencies. He also outlined how Doubao Work is being applied across various scenarios, such as cross-system operations, user research, data analysis, video creation and replication, travel management, resume screening, and expense reimbursement. Regarding product competitiveness and end-user (C-end) experience, Liu shared use cases including intelligent cockpit assistants, 3D desktop avatar generation, and personalized vehicle wraps. Notably, the cockpit assistant has already partnered with Tesla to offer features like persona-based interaction, information queries, and navigation integration. The cost of generating 3D desktop avatars can be kept under RMB 1. Additionally, Liu mentioned that Volcano Engine is exploring embedded development toolchains and experimenting with integrations across various R&D tools. According to the report, Volcano Engine entered the automotive sector in 2019 and currently collaborates with most domestic OEMs across multiple dimensions.
