On September 18, BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. and BYD Auto Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Motor Vehicles" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Motor Vehicles." Effective immediately, the following vehicles are recalled (Recall No. S2026M0116V): - 58,026 Tang series vehicles produced between March 28, 2015, and December 21, 2018; - 77,846 all-new Tang DM series vehicles produced between May 19, 2018, and January 14, 2022; - 7,023 all-new Tang EV series vehicles produced between December 27, 2018, and October 25, 2021. Effective immediately, the following vehicles are also recalled (Recall No. S2026M0117V): - 40,316 Qin series vehicles produced between June 27, 2014, and June 9, 2019. For certain vehicles within the scope of this recall, a manufacturing issue caused batch-related abnormalities in the material of the brake pedal stopper pad. After prolonged use, the stopper pad may crack or break. In extreme cases, the stopper pad could detach, causing the brake lights to remain illuminated even when the brake pedal is not depressed, thereby sending an incorrect signal to following vehicles. BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd. and BYD Auto Co., Ltd. will authorize dealers to replace the affected stopper pads with improved ones free of charge for all vehicles covered by the recall. Vehicles that have already received the improved stopper pad in prior service actions do not require another replacement under this recall.
