Hunan Exports 219,000 Vehicles in First 8 Months of 2026, Up 62.5% Year-on-Year

Changsha Customs data shows that in the first eight months of 2026, Hunan exported 219,000 vehicles, up 62.5% year-on-year, with a total export value of RMB 27.96 billion, an increase of 30.7%, accounting for 12.6% of Hunan’s total exports during the same period. Recently, 235 Geely new energy vehicles cleared customs under the "consolidated declaration after batch delivery" model and were shipped collectively from Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone to Egypt. In the first eight months of 2026, Hunan exported 92,367 electric vehicles, up 53.4% year-on-year, representing 42.1% of the province's total vehicle exports during the same period. The export value amounted to RMB 9.75 billion, up 21.4%, accounting for 34.9% of the total value of Hunan’s vehicle exports. Passenger cars accounted for more than 80% of the export volume, while exports of pure-electric buses (with 10 or more seats) reached RMB 280 million in value, surging 177.2%.
