Wang Chao Outlines Huawei's Zhiqing Motion Domain Evolution Path and Energy Efficiency Strategy at 22nd TEDA Forum

On September 19, during the "High-End Insights" session of the 22nd China Automotive Industry Development (TEDA) International Forum, Wang Chao, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power Technologies Co., Ltd. and President of Huawei Digital Power's Intelligent Electric Vehicle Product Line, delivered a keynote speech. Wang Chao stated that Huawei's Zhiqing ranked first among independent Tier 1 suppliers in both 2024 and 2025, capturing over 30% of shipment share in vehicles priced above RMB 300,000. By the end of 2026, cumulative shipments are expected to exceed 3 million units. Regarding innovation in the motion domain, Wang Chao outlined a three-stage evolutionary roadmap: - Stage 1.0 focuses on building distributed experiences based on instinctive safety and super components; - Stage 2.0 enhances redundancy safety and near-end closed-loop capabilities by integrating second-generation super components into a super system and introducing predictive algorithms; - Stage 3.0 explores holistic-domain safety, achieving real-time integration with the intelligent driving and cockpit domains and enabling granular control based on scenario libraries. On driving range efficiency, Wang Chao noted that the industry achieved a capability of 10 kilometers per kWh in 2025. Huawei already reached 10 km/kWh in 2024, achieved a technical capability of 12 km/kWh in 2025, will mass-produce pure electric vehicles with 12 km/kWh efficiency in 2026, and aims to explore 14 km/kWh by 2027. In his speech, Wang Chao proposed three recommendations: 1. Promote cross-OEM platform standardization to build single-component platforms at a million-unit scale; 2. Integrate the intelligent driving, cockpit, and motion domains using a combination of "universal protocols + proprietary protocols"; 3. Advance unified standards for high- and low-voltage wiring harness interfaces.
