On September 20, the fifth-generation Lexus RX is set to mark its fourth anniversary since launch, and Lexus is reportedly preparing a mid-cycle refresh for the model. The source AutoYa has created renderings of the updated RX. According to the renderings, the refreshed RX features a smaller spindle-shaped front grille. A horizontal trim bar is added to the center of the bumper, integrating the license plate area. The side air intakes are enlarged and redesigned with a triangular shape. The Lexus logo is repositioned higher, placed between the headlights, and a front lip is added beneath the bumper. The vehicle’s sides receive new wheel designs. At the rear, redesigned taillights feature revised internal lighting graphics, accompanied by a newly styled rear bumper and diffuser. The tailgate retains the Lexus logo and full-width light bar, while the license plate mounting area becomes more prominent. Inside, the updated model is expected to adopt a revised dashboard layout, equipped with a new infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. It will also feature an electronic gear selector, a new steering wheel and seats, reconfigured buttons and knobs in the center console, redesigned air vents, and multiple interior color options. The performance variant, dubbed RX Morizo RR, has recently been spotted multiple times during testing. This version is expected to feature redesigned front and rear bumpers as well as side skirts. Powertrain rumors suggest the RX Morizo RR could deliver approximately 600 horsepower, likely combining Toyota’s new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with two electric motors in an electrified powertrain setup. Lexus has not yet confirmed the name "RX Morizo RR" or specific details about this variant. Based on current reports, the refreshed Lexus RX is expected to debut as a 2027 model year vehicle and may be officially unveiled in the coming months, while the RX Morizo RR could arrive as a 2028 model year offering.
