2026-05-19 11:39:09SVOLT Energy announced plans to mass-produce hybrid solid-liquid batteries in September. These batteries will have costs comparable to existing liquid electrolyte batteries while offering enhanced safety. The company stated that, prior to the large-scale mass production of all-solid-state batteries, hybrid solid-liquid batteries will become the dominant technological pathway, calling 2024 the inaugural year for their widespread adoption. According to its roadmap, multiple vehicle models equipped with SVOLT’s hybrid solid-liquid batteries will launch by the end of September, and the 100 kWh version will enter large-scale mass production. Additionally, SVOLT’s ternary 3.6 kWh HEV battery is scheduled for mass production in August, making the company the first domestic manufacturer to mass-produce high-capacity HEV batteries. Hybrid solid-liquid batteries refer to cells that use both liquid and solid electrolytes between the cathode and anode to conduct ions. Previously, in December 2023, the national standard “Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles – Part 1: Terminology and Classification” entered the public consultation phase, officially recognizing “semi-solid-state battery” as an acceptable term for “hybrid solid-liquid battery.”
