NIO EC6 mass production starts, to hit the market in Sep.

On February 25, IIA learned from NIO that the NIO intelligent electric coupe SUV EC6 mass production project was officially launched at the JAC NIO Advanced Manufacturing Base in Hefei. The launch of the EC6 mass production project demonstrates that while the Hefei JAC NIO advanced manufacturing base is doing a good job of epidemic prevention and control, its efficient resumption capability also marks the further deepening of the strategic cooperation between JAC and NIO. It is reported that the new car is expected to announce the price and configuration in July 2020, and delivery will begin in September.

The NIO EC6 is the third production car under the brand and debuted on the NIO Day in 2019. The new car is positioned as a smart electric coupe SUV. The overall shape inherits the NIO family design and has a coupe body design. The biggest highlight of the new car is that the roof uses an integrated dome-type glass with a roof area of 2.1 square meters, which provides a sense of openness and transparency in the car.

EC6 will launch two models, EC6 Performance Edition and EC6 Sport Edition. The performance version will be equipped with a front 160 kW high-efficiency permanent magnet motor and a rear 240 kW high-performance induction motor with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4.7 seconds. The sports version is equipped with dual 160 kW permanent magnet motors, and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is only 5.6 seconds. The NIO EC6 can be equipped with a new 100 kWh liquid-cooled constant temperature battery pack, and the performance version has a NEDC cruising range of 615 kilometers.
