Due to the impact of COVID-19, the sales of major global automakers will decline in 2020. Toyota Group's global sales volume fell 11.3% year-on-year, and German Volkswagen Group fell 15.2% year-on-year.
Toyota Motor Corporation sold approximately 8.69 million vehicles, and Daihatsu and Hino Motors sold approximately 690,000 and 140,000 vehicles, respectively. Globally, Toyota Motor Corporation's sales fell 10.5% year-on-year, but sales in the Chinese market increased 10.9% year-on-year. In addition, in 2020, Toyota Motor Corporation's global sales of electric vehicles accounted for approximately 23%, higher than 20% in 2019.
