According to the latest announcement from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), BYD has filed updated versions of several of its popular models in the 403rd batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products." The updated models include the Seagull, Dolphin, Seal, Song, Tang, and Han series. All these new variants offer LiDAR as an optional feature, with some equipped with a 270 kW single motor and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Previously, at the "God's Eye" intelligent driving strategy launch event in February 2025, BYD President Wang Chuanfu announced that the company’s entire vehicle lineup would be fully equipped with advanced intelligent driving systems. The initial rollout will cover 21 models spanning price segments from under RMB 100,000 to over RMB 200,000. BYD stated that this move aims to overcome the cost barrier that has hindered the widespread adoption of intelligent driving technology and accelerate the accessibility of advanced smart driving features for the mass market.
