The FAW-Volkswagen Magotan PHEV has officially appeared in the MIIT’s vehicle declaration catalog. The new model retains the fuel-powered version’s understated styling, while incorporating blue accents and new-energy badges on the front grille and lower bumper to highlight its plug-in hybrid identity. It measures 4,990 mm in length, 1,854 mm in width, and 1,491 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,872 mm and a curb weight of 1,838 kg. The vehicle will be offered with either 17-inch or 18-inch tires. Powering the car is a 1.5T engine (maximum output: 95 kW) paired with an electric motor delivering peak power of 145 kW, along with a lithium-ion battery pack supplied by Sunwoda. Although specific range figures have not yet been disclosed, Volkswagen’s plans suggest the all-electric range could exceed 100 kilometers. Combining the Magotan’s spacious interior with improved fuel efficiency and an enhanced electric driving experience, this PHEV variant expands consumers’ powertrain options.
