Honda Unveils HRC Sport Line with Prelude and Civic Type R Concepts at Tokyo Auto Salon

At the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, Honda unveiled its new "Sport Line" performance parts series through its racing division, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). The debut lineup features aggressively restyled concept versions of the new Prelude and Civic Type R, both equipped with exclusive HRC components such as widened fender flares and large rear spoilers—hinting at future, more performance-oriented production models. This move follows Acura’s showcase of an Integra Type S fitted with HRC parts at the 2024 Monterey Car Week, suggesting Honda had been planning this initiative well in advance. In addition, Honda simultaneously launched a "Trail Line" tailored for SUVs, presenting off-road–inspired HRC concepts including the Passport TrailSport Elite, along with modified CR-V and ZR-V models. Also making its debut at the show was the Civic hatchback equipped with the new S+ Shift transmission technology, which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan by the end of the year.
