NVIDIA Unveils Alpamayo, New Autonomous Driving Software, at CES—Open-Sources Model and Training Data

At the 2024 CES exhibition, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced Alpamayo, a new software platform designed for autonomous vehicles. The software assists vehicles in making path-planning decisions and provides engineers with traceable execution logs. Huang emphasized that NVIDIA will open-source both the AI model and its training dataset to enhance transparency and build industry trust, enabling automakers to evaluate and deploy intelligent driving solutions more effectively. This move is seen as a key step in NVIDIA’s strategy to strengthen its in-vehicle AI ecosystem. Additionally, the company recently acquired part of the team from AI chip startup Groq, further bolstering its in-house chip development capabilities.
