The 2025 sales rankings for rugged off-road SUVs have been revealed. BYD’s Fangchengbao Bao 5 topped the chart as the best-selling single model, with annual retail sales of 54,552 units—surpassing the Tank 300 single variant for the first time. However, when combining sales of both the fuel-powered and new energy versions of the Tank 300, its total reached 77,458 units, securing its position as the top-selling model series overall. Great Wall Motor’s Tank brand demonstrated strong performance, claiming three of the top four spots: the Tank 500 Hi4-T ranked third with 47,659 units sold, followed by the Tank 400 Hi4-T in fourth place with 39,901 units. BAIC’s BJ40 series came next with combined sales of 66,942 units. Among the top ten, only the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado represented a foreign brand—the rest were all domestic models—highlighting Chinese brands’ dominance in the off-road vehicle market.
