Toyota recently announced its 2025 sales performance in the Chinese market: total annual sales exceeded 1.78 million vehicles, up approximately 0.23% year-over-year (compared to 1.776 million units in 2024), marking a modest positive growth. Although the company did not disclose the exact growth rate, this represents a rare year-over-year increase in its China operations. Meanwhile, Toyota has set a target to surpass 10 million vehicles in global production in 2026, driven by rising demand—primarily in the U.S.—for hybrid models. Additionally, due to the international trade environment, Toyota expects to incur tariff-related costs of approximately ¥1.45 trillion (around RMB 64.089 billion) in fiscal year 2025 (ending March 2026), including portions shared by its parts suppliers.
