On January 19, a black Tesla Model Y suddenly lost control while waiting at an intersection for a left-turn red light. The vehicle first veered left, striking a concrete curb, then abruptly accelerated through the red light, speeding straight ahead onto the median green belt in the opposite direction. It became airborne for several meters before crashing heavily back to the ground. The car sustained severe damage but did not catch fire. Tesla has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the incident. Online speculation suggests the crash may have resulted from driver distraction, mistakenly pressing the accelerator instead of the brake, or confusion related to the vehicle's one-pedal driving mode. Another similar recent incident has also drawn public attention, in which a Tesla similarly mounted a green belt and was nearly totaled. The exact causes of both accidents remain under official investigation.
