China has completed the draft for public comments of its industry standard titled "Technical Requirements for Graded Intelligent Roadside Infrastructure under Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration (Urban Roads)," with an official release expected in the first half of this year. The standard will unify infrastructure grading across 20 pilot cities nationwide, accelerating the implementation of "vehicle-road-cloud integration" applications. By establishing a "digital track," this technology enhances the safety of autonomous driving and provides high-quality data for training large AI models. Ten key functional scenarios—including traffic signal information services and cooperative automated emergency collision avoidance—are already deemed ready for widespread deployment. Zhang Jianyong, Chairman of BAIC Group, called for expedited clarification of liability frameworks for Level 3 autonomous driving, unified standards, and improved policies on cross-border data flows and security to support enterprises in achieving large-scale operations.
