GAC Group recently issued a statement clarifying that online rumors claiming "Dong Mingzhu stated that half of GAC’s future vehicle chips would be replaced by Gree" are false. On January 15, Feng Xingya, Chairman of GAC Group, visited Gree Electric Appliances and met with Dong Mingzhu to discuss the integration of a smart "human-vehicle-home" ecosystem and industrial synergy. During the meeting, Feng introduced the Hyper GT Summit Edition model, emphasizing that all 1,004 chips in the vehicle are based on Chinese independent intellectual property. In response, Dong humorously remarked, “Perhaps 500 of them could come from Gree in the future.” Feng expressed his intention to actively pursue incorporating Gree’s chips and presented Dong with a scale model of the Hyper SSR as a gesture of goodwill between the two parties. GAC stressed that any substantive progress regarding cooperation will be promptly announced through official channels.
