GAC Aion is set to launch its all-new electric sedan, the N60, targeting the 100,000 RMB segment. The vehicle features the Quark E-Drive 2.0 system, incorporating an amorphous alloy stator core and a silicon carbide (SiC) controller. This setup delivers superior energy efficiency compared to Tesla, achieving “1 kWh for every extra kilometer driven.” The amorphous alloy material used in the stator core is only 0.02 mm thick, offering significantly lower electrical resistivity and higher magnetic permeability than conventional silicon steel, effectively suppressing magnetic saturation at high rotational speeds. As a result, the e-drive system reduces losses by 75%, extends driving range by 5–8%, and cuts motor weight by approximately 30%, thereby enhancing overall vehicle efficiency and lowering costs. The N60 will be available in three variants with CLTC-rated ranges of 410 km, 510 km, and 630 km. All versions support 180 kW fast charging, replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Standard across the lineup is a LiDAR sensor. The vehicle measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,860/1,883 mm in width, and 1,673 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. It is equipped with GAC Aion’s “Aero Battery” 2.0, with cells supplied by Yinpai Battery, a GAC Group subsidiary.
