Mr. Sun, a car owner from Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, recently reported that his SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 has repeatedly experienced sudden power loss while driving since October 2023, with the dashboard repeatedly displaying warnings such as "Drive System Fault" and "Motor Fault." Although he followed the manufacturer's instructions to upgrade the vehicle's software, the issue reoccurred on January 9, 2024. The local 4S dealership was unable to identify the root cause and merely suggested removing the dashcam—a recommendation Mr. Sun questioned. He has contacted the manufacturer’s customer service multiple times but received no clear response. Moreover, he discovered that numerous other ID.3 owners have encountered similar issues, including sudden loss of acceleration and repeated unsuccessful repair attempts. Some owners have requested vehicle returns or replacements, but their requests were denied by 4S dealerships on the grounds that the cases "do not meet the conditions stipulated under China’s automobile 'Three Guarantees' policy," leaving them in a difficult position when seeking redress.
