On January 20, the JLPOWER Changchun Forum and the 2025 Forbes China "New Luxury Index" Awards Ceremony for Intelligent Battery Electric Vehicles was held in Changchun. The event was co-organized by the China Price Association, the Automotive Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the Luxury Brand Research Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with Forbes China participating for the first time as an authoritative media partner. The evaluation redefined the "new luxury" standard through five primary indicators and 39 detailed sub-indicators, emphasizing customization, holistic integration, and sustainability. Zhao Yang, Vice President of the Automotive Sub-Council of CCPIT, revealed that in 2025, China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) production and sales are expected to exceed 16 million units, reaching a market penetration rate of 54%, with exports totaling 2.615 million units—demonstrating China's comprehensive leadership not only in scale but also in technology, standards, and ecosystem development. Experts emphasized that the industry must shift from price competition to co-creating value, prioritize safety as the foundation for innovation, and advance toward high-quality development.
