Mercedes-Benz will unveil the all-new S-Class sedan on January 29. CEO Ola Källenius emphasized that this update is far from a routine mid-cycle refresh, calling it the most comprehensive and extensive overhaul in the S-Class’s history, with more than half of the vehicle’s components—approximately 2,700 parts—either newly added or completely redesigned. Exterior updates include a 20% larger front grille and the return of the iconic three-pointed star emblem to the hood, now integrated with LED lighting. Inside, the cabin debuts Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary MB.OS operating system for the first time, incorporating 27 sensors to enhance voice control and deliver a more personalized user experience. Rear-seat comfort has been further elevated with ergonomically optimized seats, MANUFAKTUR customization options, and an upgraded AIRMATIC air suspension system featuring a road-sensing function that proactively adjusts damping to smooth out rough road sections ahead. The new model retains physical controls such as the volume roller, striking a balance between intuitive tactile operation and advanced digital functionality. On the powertrain front, Mercedes-Benz confirmed it will not abandon internal combustion engines. The new V8 engine already meets stringent emissions standards, and the V12 variant will remain available, underscoring the company’s stance that “the choice remains in the hands of the customer.”
