On January 21, the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI) released the results of its second batch of vehicle evaluations for 2025. The Li Auto i8 achieved the highest G+ rating in all three categories: occupant protection, pedestrian protection, and assisted safety, and also earned a G rating in the New Energy Vehicle-specific assessment. During testing, the Li Auto i8 demonstrated no structural deformation of the A-pillar in both driver-side and passenger-side 25% small-overlap frontal collisions at 64 km/h, with all airbags deploying promptly. In the 50 km/h 50% frontal overlap and side-impact tests, the vehicle’s body structure exhibited controlled deformation, and airbags deployed as expected. Additionally, both the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Keeping Assist systems operated effectively, contributing to the G+ rating in the assisted safety category.
