On January 21, Tesla announced an update to its corporate mission, committing to create an "extraordinarily abundant world" and accelerating its transformation into a comprehensive technology company focused on autonomous driving, humanoid robotics, and sustainable energy. By the end of 2025, Tesla’s intelligent driver-assistance system had accumulated over 11 billion kilometers of real-world driving, with a serious accident rate just one-eighth of the U.S. national average. Robotaxi services launched in Austin, Texas, in June 2025 using Model Y vehicles, having already completed over 2 million kilometers of testing. By year-end, the service began operating without safety drivers. The Cybercab—a vehicle designed specifically for autonomous operation—is scheduled to enter mass production in April 2026, with an estimated cost of only a few cents per kilometer, significantly boosting vehicle utilization. Additionally, Tesla’s third-generation humanoid robot is set to begin mass production in 2026, featuring precise motor control and autonomous recharging capabilities. It holds the potential to advance healthcare, alleviate poverty, and drive more than tenfold global economic growth.
