At an investor engagement event on January 22, GAC Group revealed that its flying car, the GOVY AirCab, has secured nearly 2,000 letters of intent for orders. The vehicle was unveiled in Hong Kong in June 2024, with an official manufacturer's suggested retail price under RMB 1.68 million, targeting low-altitude tourism and mobility scenarios. The GOVY AirCab features aerospace-grade carbon fiber composite materials, with over 90% of its airframe constructed from carbon fiber—reducing weight by more than 30%. It is equipped with overhead rotors and gull-wing doors, and supports rapid charging: capable of charging from 50% to 100% in just 15 minutes (within a 25-minute fast-charging window). The cabin offers a two-seat layout and includes 5G connectivity, an intelligent assistant, an ambient fragrance system, and Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities (with computing power exceeding 500 TOPS and detection range surpassing 300 meters). Safety features include redundant flight control systems, real-time monitoring throughout the flight, and cloud-based self-diagnostics. The product is currently undergoing comprehensive airworthiness certification and is expected to receive approval by the end of 2026, with deliveries scheduled to commence shortly thereafter.
