A Honda dealership in Montclair, California, has recently become embroiled in controversy. Content creator Em (@rockerfoo13) posted a video on social media alleging that while purchasing a car at Metro Honda, the sales manager pressured her by saying he wouldn’t sell her the vehicle unless she agreed to go on a date with him. After she refused, he allegedly raised the car’s price by $10,000. In the video, the salesperson is seen repeatedly making suggestive comments in Spanish about going on a date, even referring to it as “the entry fee” for buying the car. When Em and her friend expressed discomfort and asked to see the written quote, the salesperson refused to provide any documentation, dismissing his remarks as “just a joke.” Em emphasized that she had only responded politely—not flirtatiously—and began recording because she felt uneasy. The incident has sparked strong public support online, with many urging her to file a lawsuit. Research shows that women have long faced systemic discrimination in auto sales, including being quoted higher prices and offered less favorable loan rates. Em is currently considering her next legal steps, while the dealership involved has not yet issued a response.
