The Netherlands ranks first globally with a vehicle-to-charger ratio of 5:1—meaning one public charging point serves every five electric vehicles—though only 3% of its chargers are fast chargers. China follows closely behind with a ratio of 9:1 and an impressive 49% of its public chargers being fast chargers, placing it among the global leaders. Italy, Spain, and France have ratios between 10:1 and 13:1, outperforming the European average. In contrast, the United States lags significantly, with a vehicle-to-charger ratio of 31:1. Meanwhile, India’s charging infrastructure is expanding rapidly, having grown by approximately 130% over the past two years. Several domestic companies are set to launch large-scale expansion plans in 2025, positioning India as one of the fastest-growing markets worldwide.
