Jaguar has reaffirmed its commitment to its all-electric transformation strategy, announcing that its first production electric vehicle built on a dedicated EV architecture—the four-door high-performance GT sedan, Type 00—will officially debut in Q1 2026 (March or April). This model will be Jaguar’s first new vehicle following the brand’s complete discontinuation of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in early 2025, marking the transition of its brand reinvention into the implementation phase. Although some international media reports have suggested Jaguar is considering adding a range-extending internal combustion engine to the Type 00 to enhance its driving range, the company has firmly denied these claims, calling them “purely unfounded speculation” and emphasizing that its dedicated electric architecture is incompatible with range-extender systems. The Type 00 is expected to carry a starting price between $120,000 and $164,000. Following its launch, Jaguar plans to introduce two additional all-electric SUVs as well as a sports car/large luxury sedan, targeting ultra-luxury brands such as Bentley. Jaguar has not yet disclosed details regarding production capacity, dealer network restructuring, or key market sales strategies. Dealers remain cautious about market acceptance of the brand’s high-priced electric models.
