On January 27, the Beijing Off-Road BJ40 Extended-Range Yueye Flying Edition officially opened for pre-orders at a price of RMB 247,800. As the only model in the BJ40 family featuring "aerial expansion" capability, this new vehicle integrates a factory-installed drone system into its rugged off-road foundation, addressing common issues with traditional drones—such as difficult storage, charging challenges, and slow deployment. The exterior retains the iconic "boxy" design, topped with a floating drone pod that houses an off-road-specific drone deployable at the touch of a button, capable of road condition scouting and automatic follow-shot filming. Inside, the cabin features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster paired with dual 15.6-inch displays. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, the infotainment system supports voice-controlled drone operation and real-time video transmission. Under the hood, the vehicle combines a 1.5L turbocharged range extender with front and rear dual motors, delivering a total system output of 403 kW. It offers a CLTC all-electric range of 152 km and a combined driving range exceeding 1,200 km.
