Dongfeng Nissan’s first mid-to-large new energy SUV based on the Tianyan architecture, the NX8, officially rolled off the production line at the Huadu plant on January 27. It is expected to debut in the first half of this year and likely launch in March or April. The NX8 will be available in both all-electric and range-extended variants, both built on an 800V silicon carbide high-voltage platform and equipped with CATL’s LFP 5C ultra-fast-charging battery. In terms of design, the NX8 features a closed-off front fascia, full-width daytime running lights, a floating roof, and a 2.4-meter OLED “Star Ring” rear light bar comprising 2,064 individual lighting units. The vehicle measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,917 mm. Powertrain options include a range-extended version powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (109 kW) paired with a 195 kW electric motor, while the all-electric variant offers two single-motor configurations rated at 215 kW and 250 kW, respectively.
