Since its launch last autumn, BMW's all-new electric SUV, the iX3, has seen surging orders. The European market accounts for roughly one-third of BMW’s all-electric vehicle orders. Although deliveries only began in March, production capacity is already fully booked through the end of 2026. To accelerate deliveries, BMW has already started a second production shift ahead of schedule at its new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The iX3 is the first model based on BMW’s Neue Klasse all-electric platform and will receive an upgrade this spring, adding 22 kW AC charging and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external power supply capabilities. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz’s all-electric GLC is also in high demand. With a range exceeding 640 km and the ability to recharge significantly within 30 minutes using fast charging, its orders are booked into the second half of 2026. To boost output, the Bremen factory has implemented a three-shift system and added Saturday shifts.
