In a live stream on February 1, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, revealed that the new generation of the Xiaomi SU7 has completed development and entered the production preparation phase. The first batch of prototype vehicles will arrive at retail stores before the Chinese New Year, allowing consumers to experience the car in person before deciding whether to place an order. Lei stated this move aims to address user feedback regarding the lack of physical vehicle access prior to the official launch event, slowing down the pace to enhance the car-buying experience. Pre-orders for the new model opened on January 7, offering three variants: Standard (RMB 229,900), Pro (RMB 259,900), and Max (RMB 309,900)—all slightly more expensive than the previous generation. Additionally, Xiaomi delivered over 39,000 vehicles in January and has set an annual delivery target of 550,000 units for 2026.
