According to the latest report from Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple’s CarPlay Ultra will expand beyond its current exclusive use in Aston Martin vehicles and debut in new mainstream models from Hyundai or Kia in the second half of 2025. CarPlay Ultra enables deep integration with vehicle systems, allowing control of climate settings and the radio, displaying rearview camera footage, and sharing driving data—such as speed and fuel level—with the instrument cluster. Its interface can also be customized according to brand identity and user preferences. While Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have confirmed support for the system, BMW, Ford, Rivian, and General Motors have all explicitly declined to adopt it. Tesla currently has no plans to implement CarPlay Ultra and is only considering integrating the standard version of CarPlay.
