BYD recently released its January sales figures, reporting total vehicle sales of 210,051 units for the month, including 205,518 passenger vehicles, maintaining its position as China's top-selling new energy vehicle (NEV) brand. Overseas sales performed strongly, with exports of passenger cars and pickups reaching 100,009 units, up 43.3% year-over-year. By brand, the Dynasty and Ocean Networks contributed 177,522 units, Fangchengbao sold 21,581 units, Denza delivered 6,002 units, and Yangwang sold 413 units. Despite year-over-year and month-over-month declines in sales, the overall market remained sluggish in January due to the phase-out of NEV purchase tax incentives and the impact of the New Year holiday. According to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), nationwide passenger vehicle retail sales dropped 32% year-over-year during the same period. Industry insiders expect the market to gradually recover after the Chinese New Year holiday.
