A man recently shared his auto parts price-comparison experience on TikTok: he found a branded part priced at $250 at NAPA Auto Parts, while the exact same item was only $100 on PartsSource. Although PartsSource required an extra 15-minute drive, he chose to go there anyway and ultimately saved $60—after a NAPA employee checked the price and offered a lowest possible price of $160. He bluntly called NAPA’s pricing “outrageous” and advised consumers to consider PartsSource first. Many commenters agreed that NAPA has always been overpriced, with some users suggesting shoppers compare prices across multiple platforms, including RockAuto and Amazon. Previously, San Diego County accused N APA of overcharging customers due to issues with its point-of-sale system, leading the company to pay $338,000 in settlement fees. Experts also reminded consumers that prices can vary significantly between retailers, and savvy shoppers should always compare options before buying.
