German automotive parts giant Bosch has recently initiated workforce optimization in China, primarily affecting its Wuxi facility's internal combustion engine and hydrogen fuel cell projects, with the first round of layoffs impacting nearly 200 employees. According to internal staff, this is an economically driven redundancy, and the company is offering a severance package of "N+4," which exceeds the legal minimum requirement. Additional reports indicate that Bosch plans another, larger round of layoffs in China this June. As the automotive industry accelerates its shift toward electrification, traditional fuel-related businesses have become a key focus for restructuring.
