Recently, John Moolenaar, Chairman of the U.S. House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, sent a letter to Ford’s CEO questioning the company’s collaboration with Chinese battery firms such as CATL. He alleged that China poses a threat to U.S. supply chain security and expressed concerns that Chinese technology could be used in America’s critical infrastructure. In response, Science and Technology Daily published a commentary stating that such baseless accusations ignore the reality of China’s technological advancements and that cooperation between China and the U.S. in the new energy sector could be mutually beneficial. The article emphasized that certain U.S. politicians should cease interfering in normal commercial collaborations between enterprises; otherwise, they will only further undermine America’s already severely weakened manufacturing sector, adding insult to injury for its domestic industries.
