In January this year, Tesla's sales in the European market showed a clear divergence. Registrations rose by 75%, 70%, 26%, and 3% year-over-year in Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark, respectively, signaling signs of recovery. However, sales plummeted sharply in France, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Portugal—with Norway seeing an 88% drop, and the Netherlands and France declining by 67% and 42%, respectively. Analysts noted that although Tesla responded to competitive pressures last year by launching lower-priced versions of the Model Y and Model 3, CEO Elon Musk’s public support for far-right figures in Europe may have affected the brand’s acceptance in certain markets, hindering its overall market share recovery.
