Recently, Bosch and Chery have partnered to implement advanced intelligent driving systems; NVIDIA has teamed up with Mercedes-Benz to launch an open-source autonomous driving model; and Toyota has struck a multi-billion-yuan ADAS collaboration deal with Bosch. These developments highlight how foreign automakers and tech giants are accelerating their alliances to capture China’s intelligent driving market. Facing intensified competition driven by technological partnerships and global strategies, Chinese automakers are leveraging their unique advantages—such as localized data from complex road conditions, rapid iteration capabilities, and a complete industrial supply chain—to build distinctive competitiveness. Although challenges remain in high-end chips and overseas expansion, initiatives like Huawei’s self-developed chips, BYD and Chery’s accelerated global expansion, and NIO and XPeng’s push into the premium segment are gradually breaking new ground. Industry insiders believe that increased investment by foreign players will spur Chinese intelligent driving technologies to upgrade, potentially leading to a new landscape characterized by “Chinese strengths integrated with global collaboration.”
