To meet the long-distance travel needs of new energy vehicle owners during the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush, Beijing has achieved full coverage of ultra-fast charging stations across all 16 highway service areas in the city. As of 2025, a total of 42 ultra-fast charging stations have been built across 12 service areas, equipped with 530 charging piles and 674 charging spaces—accounting for 26% of all passenger vehicle parking spots. Among these, 66 ultra-fast chargers deliver a maximum power output of up to 600 kW, enabling efficient recharging in just 15 minutes—comparable to the convenience of refueling at a gas station. Additionally, 12 mobile charging vehicles have been deployed as emergency backup at key corridor service areas along major expressways including the Jinghu (Beijing–Shanghai), Jingha (Beijing–Harbin), Jinggang'ao (Beijing–Hong Kong–Macau), and Jingkun (Beijing–Kunming) routes. On-site staff have also been increased to guide traffic flow and ensure safe operation of equipment under high-load conditions.
