Recently, the environmental coalition "Lead the Charge" released its latest ranking of automakers' green supply chains. Tesla retained its top position with a composite score of 49%, followed closely by Ford (45%) and Volvo Cars (44%). The ranking evaluates over 80 criteria, focusing on "fossil-free supply chains" and "human rights safeguards and responsible sourcing," prioritizing concrete actions over verbal commitments. Volvo stood out for its progress in supply chain decarbonization and material recycling, while Ford led in rigorous battery supply chain audits and closed-loop aluminum recycling. Tesla maintained its lead through continuous technological iteration. New regulations such as the EU’s Battery Regulation are transforming green compliance from a "bonus" into a "mandatory requirement," accelerating the global automotive industry’s transition. Chinese automakers have shown significant progress, with Geely and BYD achieving breakthroughs in battery recycling and supplier management. Green supply chains have now become a new frontier in global competition.
