French automotive brand Alpine is accelerating its efforts to bring its iconic sports car, the A110, to the U.S. market. According to Automotive News, Alpine CEO Philippe Krief revealed that the A110 is currently undergoing crash testing in the United States and could launch there by the end of 2027. Although the company has not officially confirmed the timeline, it expects the U.S. market to account for half of the model’s global sales—targeting annual sales of approximately 350,000 units. Alpine had previously planned to introduce multiple SUV models by 2028, but due to a slowdown in the electric vehicle market, it may now prioritize launching an all-electric version of the A110. The new model will be built on the Alpine Performance Platform, which supports both electric and internal combustion powertrains. However, Krief clearly stated, “The new A110 will be electric.” The current A110 is powered by a 252-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds and weighing approximately 2,430 pounds. Alpine has already held discussions with AutoNation regarding distribution, though it has yet to announce whether it will establish a dedicated dealer network in the U.S.
