The man immediately used the refund to buy a Mazda 3. While most used cars are sold “as-is” and aren’t protected under lemon laws, CarMax’s gesture earned the customer’s trust. CarMax offers a basic limited warranty that varies by state—up to 90 days or 4,000 miles—and also provides an optional extended service plan called MaxCare.
