BYD will launch its premium all-electric Denza Z9 GT in Europe next month, featuring the latest "Flash Charge" battery technology capable of charging from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and reaching 97% in 12 minutes—even maintaining high charging efficiency at temperatures as low as -30°C. The vehicle offers a maximum range of up to 800 kilometers, significantly surpassing most electric vehicles currently on the market. To support the new model, BYD plans to deploy high-power flash charging stations across Europe this summer, although no existing chargers can yet fully meet its peak demand of 1,500 kilowatts. Due to these technological upgrades, the European launch of the Z9 GT has been delayed from its originally scheduled date of October 2025. Additionally, Denza will introduce a plug-in hybrid version of the Z9 GT and enter Europe’s premium segment with four models: the Z9 GT, B5, B8, and D9. Amid slowing sales in China, BYD is accelerating its overseas expansion, with European deliveries surging nearly 270% year-over-year in 2024.
